My dream is to create a positive learning environment in the Media Center. I want every student to feel comfortable with using a library now and in the future. I hope to connect with struggling readers and find ways to assist by using tips and tricks that I learned during my own struggles with reading. The most important thing that I want to give our students is confidence. I want WES students to know that they are capable of anything they set their mind to doing.

Educational Background

While attending Winthrop University, I worked in the library as a work study student. In December of 2006, I graduated with a degree in Psychology; however, I worked for Clemson University Libraries for a year before working for mental health. My stint with mental health was short lived and I soon returned to the library to work for eight years in the public library. During that time I acquired my Master Library and Information Science with a focus on School Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2016. This is my first year teaching in a school, but I feel confident that the skills that I have gained over the years will be put to great use at WES.
